Mum of 6-year-old triplets, Carolyn Hill, runs the Watford Raring2go! magazine. She says: “I really enjoy running the business, it gives me the chance to be myself.
“Raring2go! gives me the income to do the things I want. Running the magazine can be hard work, but I get lots of support from head office and it means I can take the children to and from school and not have to worry if they are ill or on holiday. It gives me the flexibility to be a businesswoman and a mum.”
Alison Nelson is one of the most successful Raring2go! entrepreneurs. She comes from a teaching and marketing background and, having been made redundant in 2007, she invested in a Raring2go! franchise in Stockton. Alison, who has two children aged 5 and 9, now publishes five editions of Raring2go! covering County Durham, Tees Valley and Darlington & Richmond.
Alison says: “It’s been hard work but very rewarding. I moved the business into our own offices this year and now employ a team of three. I would definitely recommend Raring2go! if you are looking to work from home or want to expand into something even bigger.”
